I have cleaned many a paper element air filter with gasoline. Just soak the filter in a little gas and slosh it around a little and it should remove the oil and dirt there in, and then let it air dry completely before replacing it.....BUT, it's best to replace a filter that has been drenched in oil repeatedly. Another thing, remove the plug on your drip line (the rubber tube hanging down from the bottom of the air box) to remove the oil that has accumilated there as well. If you want your bike to be more like the old AMF days Harley's, just remove the plug every time you park your bike (don't forget to put it back before riding off) and you will get a nice oil spot under your bike....LOL
